Ravan busy with sinister plan
running after gold and women
fallen in love with his male-ego
making effort to boost again
Afraid of all gods like Sun and Moon
boasting to put them in a cave
to fulfil his false satisfaction
he behaves as if they are slaves
and can’t control his demonic thoughts
lust popping out in his leisure
he keeps itching his wanton desires
that is the kind of his pleasure
how possessive, no end to mirage
facing death while living in stress
he leaves his body but doesn’t die
his Satan hides in all of us
Ram in heart is happy with Ravan
mix of evil needed in life
not good to make everyone happy
if you have to desert your wife.

Ram and Ravan
I tell the story of Rama and Sita every year in my class so I read your poem with interest. The children are fascinated by Ravana - why do they always like ‘the baddie?’
It is an inspiring story and we discuss the motives and actions quite deeply.
Thank you for your interesting and thought provoking poem.
