Theme : Metaphor
I am sitting in a cave
feel innocent and younger
tree branches like artery
just to satisfy hunger
Someone is breathing for me
here all leisure and no fight
lovely music like heartbeat
I listen whole day and night
No effort, no work for me
all comfort comes by snuggle
what a wonder cave it is
preparing for a struggle
Will drive me out of the cave
through a very narrow route
I can’t stay inside for long
still very tough to come out
Lazy bone no work for me
my mother is the rover
I will be pushed out soon
when just nine months are over
You had me going and then surprised me with the ending. I love poems that have an ending like this. Your meter is good and the poem is a delightful read. Thanks for sharing.

The title of this poem caught my attention, and I’m very glad I read it. It is very clever; I thought of a literal cave almost until the very end. Great imagery; I was right there all the way, even though it took me a stanza or two to get it.
Great work!
